- Democrat Ron Barber defeated republican Jesse Kelly in a special election to fill Gabrielle Gifford's House seat (Fox News):

- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has accused Russia of aiding the Syrian government with arms and gunships. This could create additional tensions between Washington and The Kremlin as countries work out a solution to the Syrian civil war (MSNBC):
