One thing I find almost aggravating, after watching the last two debates... Originally, the GOP platform was not to raise taxes on anyone and instead cut them. This has changed to cutting taxes across the board with the primary focus being the middle class, and paying for it by effectively raising taxes on the rich.
ReplyDeleteIs this not the same exact thing the Dems planned? And the same exact thing they receive so much criticism over?
Within a minute of each other, both Biden and Ryan last night said they would not raise taxes on middle class Americans and would ensure that through having the rich pay more. Biden's method was through allowing the Bush cuts to expire on the wealthy making $250k+, and Ryan's method was through cutting what would have to be a significant number of loopholes/deductions that exclusively benefit the rich making $250k+.
How is this, on a fundamental level, truly significantly different? Either way, you're forcing one group to pay more so the other group can pay less.
