Open Chat... All Day, Every Day! Express Your Views, Debate, and Challenge the Views of Others!

In order to keep up with the nature of free, spirited debate, I wanted to place the chat feature at the top of the homepage. This ensures people can come here and share their views on anything they wish and not have it be related to any specific discussion. Here, people can share ideas, links, and views "unmoderated" and an their own pace. To me, this makes The Elephant in the Room blog truly a place for debate.

  1. Here is an interesting article:

    http://news.yahoo.com/obesity-fight-must-shift-personal-blame-u-panel-123320915--sector.html

While I do realize that there are truly obese people, the way they figure it is kind of BS. For instance, I am 6'5" 210 pounds, I am borderline overweight (by their figuring) and I am tall and slender. Let's see how professional athletes fare in their calculations on Body Mass Index.

Peyton Manning, 6'5" 230 lbs., OVERWEIGHT
Ray Lewis, 6'1" 250 lbs, OBESE
Tim Tebow, 6'3" 236 lbs, OVERWEIGHT (close to obese)
LeBron James 6'8" 250 lbs, OVERWEIGHT
Phillip Keith (2011 Mr. Olympia) 5'9" 240 lbs, OBESE.

How about that, a majority of professional athletes may quite possibly be overweight or obese, or they have a very screwed up way of determining obesity. I am going to go with they have a screwed up way of figuring obesity.

Like I said, I know there are some truly obese people out there but the problem CAN NOT be nearly as bad as they try to make it out to be if every bodybuilder in the world is considered obese in their asinine calculation of determining obese.

Taxing my soda won't make people lose weight.
