Open Chat... All Day, Every Day! Express Your Views, Debate, and Challenge the Views of Others!

In order to keep up with the nature of free, spirited debate, I wanted to place the chat feature at the top of the homepage. This ensures people can come here and share their views on anything they wish and not have it be related to any specific discussion. Here, people can share ideas, links, and views "unmoderated" and an their own pace. To me, this makes The Elephant in the Room blog truly a place for debate.

Mitt Romney on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Mitt Romney was a guest on the Tonight Show last night. Here is the video:

***This video is NOT property of The Elephant in the Room. We are providing a link to the video, not the actual video footage.***

Key Questions:

- How would you grade Mitt's performance? His answers?
- Did Mitt dodge Jay Leno's questioning or were his answers direct and satisfying?
- Do you think the interview was fair? Were the questions "slanted" or "centered?"
- Does Mitt Romney's answers, demeanor, and everything associated with his appearance on the tonight show improve, diminish, or have no affect on your impression of him?
- Do you think this appearance will help or hurt Mitt Romney in securing the nomination? What about the presidency if he is the GOP candidate?

Please share your thoughts, grades, impressions, etc. below. Thank you.

+++ Also, we know there have been other appearances by the candidates on the Tonight Show and other interview style shows of the like. We have not been able to find many of them (the link above was given to us by a Mitt Romney supporter, thank you for that), but if you would like The Elephant in the Room to post them in an open forum like this one, please let us know. Email us at loudmouthelephant@gmail.com with any links and information +++

  1. A + Congrats Mr. President.

I actually thought Jay was fair (though he is a little more pro GOP while Letterman is a liberal nut).

I just wish he would pick Rubio for a VP.

  2. I actually thought he did well, coming from a Santorum guy. The only thing I didn't like was when he called Santorum "Press Secretary"

  3. Excellent show! I'd grade Gov Romney with an 'A' because he was relaxed and himself. Jay Leno's questions really brought out the human side of Romney and the audience was very receptive. At the same time, Leno's questions brought up critical issues and allowed the Gov to talk in a relaxed manner about the issues. Because of the 'vitriolic' nature of the campaigns this was refreshing and people got a glimpse of the real Romney. It was very fair and it is great to see humor injected into an otherwise tough slog.

  4. It was okay. I'd say a B+

I also agree that it was fair. Mitt did a decent job of addressing each question. But am I the only one who picked out a very significant soundbite that I bet the media will grab on to. Mitt said something like "I sent my son to Guam. I sent my son to the Marianas Islands."

*You KNOW the press is just going to jump on this (thought it's just really retarded of them to do so) and say something like "well Mitt, you're out of touch. While average Americans work hard every day, we don't have that kind of money to send our sons to exotic islands."

It's pathetic, but you know they will.

    1. How? Can you enlighten us? Dropping a one-line attack offers no help, it also makes you look like an ignorant, spoiled child. Just sayin'

    4. 10000 bet? Irrelevant, and yes, one liners full of air get owned.

    5. It IS relevant because it's someones opinion on the topic, you may not agree. RallyCap .....you're a dick

    6. Anonymous - I'm not sure calling RallyCap a "dick" really helps. From reading this, he/she (perhaps a little crass with "you got owned") stated that they obviously disagreed with something, and they did not get personal.

We are all for fact-based debate... and regardless of agreement or disagreement, I don't see how personal attacks help. I would rather people beat each other with facts and truth :-)

    1. Are you saying this guy's opinion is irrelevant because you don't agree ?? Typical GOP Bullshit

  7. Actually, if you look at the three simple words I typed, I asked a question. I wanted to know something so I asked. I was curious as to why he woukd think this was relevant.

Are you unnecessarily making a bigger deal out of something that was really simple in an attempt to make the GOP look bad any way you can, even though this attempt is just retarded? Typical ignorant democrat bullshit.
