Open Chat... All Day, Every Day! Express Your Views, Debate, and Challenge the Views of Others!

In order to keep up with the nature of free, spirited debate, I wanted to place the chat feature at the top of the homepage. This ensures people can come here and share their views on anything they wish and not have it be related to any specific discussion. Here, people can share ideas, links, and views "unmoderated" and an their own pace. To me, this makes The Elephant in the Room blog truly a place for debate.

CNN Republican Debate From Charleston, South Carolina - January 19th, 2012

Okay... This is the last debate before the South Carolina primary. As always, what are your thoughts?

Who won the CNN South Carolina debate?
How did each candidate handle the additional time because Rick Perry dropped out?
What was the best part or the best answer?
Who had the biggest gaffe?
Were you undecided before the debate? If so, did the debate help you make up your mind?

Who wins SC?

Thank you!

  1. Mitt walks out unscathed. Newt will do well, but you know what he can't beat Obama. That's all that matters.

    1. This is wrong. Polls are deceptive. If we listen to them Ron Paul should be the next president. Truth is the egotistical self righteousness that is permeates through Sanatorium is the problem. Mitt or Newt or Paul could win. Put Mittens or Newt with RP and its sewed up. It is no longer a question of will but who will be the next President. Bo is one and done. The media is slanting results because they are afraid. They want internet regulated to stop small businesses that are legal from cutting into their profits. (example.)

    2. Gingrich or Romney win the nomination. Paul goes Independent (note that he said he didn't WANT to do that, not that he WOULDN'T do that). A three way race ensues. Not many want 4 more years of Obama. Romney and Gingrich both have too much baggage. People finally get clarity and understand Ron Paul's message. Ron Paul wins. I personally have a scorched earth mentality - I am voting Ron Paul even if I have to write him in and even if it means Obama stays in. Anyone but Ron Paul means this country (and "We the People" along with it) are hosed - I just think Obama will take us to a Revolution more quickly than Gingrich or Romney - a good thing in my book as the quicker we get it over with, the quicker we can start rebuilding.

  2. I actually think Newt gets over confident and the biggest gaffe of the night will be that he goes over the line and says something very hateful or racist or something. watch.

    1. No, I like Newt He's still in it. Santorum is warmonger .... I liked him before last weeks debate... last night he confirmed he is a nut the real kook. He made Romney and Paul both look really good.

  4. I think Newt can keep it calm and collected tonight in spite of all of the attacks he's facing. If he manages to do that, he'll prove he's the best man.

Also, Newt 2012 t-shirts for $10 and Newt 2012 stickers for just 66 cents each. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=bl_sr_sporting-goods?_encoding=UTF8&node=3375251&field-brandtextbin=Newt%202012

    1. Only give him 5 minutes to speak within a 2 hour "equal time debate"

The only way they can stop him.

    2. ABsolutely, the LACK OF HONESTY IN THE WAY THE MEDIA BLACK OUT RON PAUL's Message of honesty and constitution is a BLACK EYE on the nation. His point about the politicians being under scrutiny but the media corporations NOT being under scrutiny point out the control of the race by the three big news channels. Do your own research Paul would win the general election against Obama.

  6. Okay, wow! Newt, if he doesn't get the nomination is going down as a martyr for taking on the media.

  10. Anonymous - thank you for your input. I have actually looked at all of these links. Most worked, some did not (Right Change)

Yes, I know Paul has a strong following online. These were all online, user input polls. We even have one up (we had one up for Iowa, and Ron Paul did very well).

My only question is, what if he did (I'm not rooting against him, but hypothetically) what if he came in 3rd in SC? What does that mean for his campaign?

Thank you for your input. I hope to hear more from you. If you like an insightful, spirited, respectful debate, pass us on.

  13. Sanatorium scares me and made Romney look good. Newt handle himself well and is VERY smart. Like hm a lot. He could home school the bo for sure. Ron Paul has so much energy and as usual got left to the side a lot. Sanatorium needs to drop it he is a war monger. He supports too much government still involved in our personal lives.

  14. LOLOL at RP supporters. You guys are really uneducated. You just want RP to win because you think he will end the war on drugs and you can stay in your mom's basement and smoke more weed. You call Romney a "RINO" (probably while getting high) but Ron Paul is NOT a conservative. He is as liberal as liberal gets.

So, I propose: getting out of mom's basement and get an education. Just look how you can't even write:

"Santorium" "Newt HANDLE himself" "Like HM a lot"

    1. Actually no. I do not drink or do drugs. I detest both. However it is not my cause to save you or anyone else from themselves. People have to learn to take a sense of responsibility for themselves and their own instead of relying on a corrupt governmental system to take care of them. This country is broke and for now we can keep printing our monopoly money, but if China or other bad debt holders were to call in their marks .... we'd be in a lot of it .... really fast.

    1. I, too, am a Christian conservative, and also a bit of a history buff.. Gingrich is another GOP elitist hack. He shills for anything, including liberal DIMS! Newt needs to go out to pasture, as does the entire hierarchy of the GOP. Our party, as it currently exists, is run by liberal/progressives, of which Newt is one...
