What's up with the push to put women in combat? It was just a couple of months ago all the liberals were ranting and raving about a "War on Women", now the liberals want to put them on the front lines?
ReplyDeleteIf the USA institutes the draft again will they be drafting our daughters and sisters to go to the front lines?
Another question I have is; why is this happening now as Panetta is getting ready to leave? This is almost how the repeal of DADT went down-- passed by a bunch of lame ducks who had just got voted out. It just seems a little odd to me.
My understanding of the issue isn't that they're "pushing" women into combat rolls, but simply giving them the option to if they want it.
DeleteCurrently, it doesn't matter how much you want it, you can't be on the frontlines if you're a women.
This change would allow them to, if so they choose.
Quick search seems to support that:

Personally, I don't really care all too much either way but I don't see why not… so long as they meet the training, fitness, and physical requirements.
Or well, I guess the change has already been made! So, at least before this point, women could not serve in active combat.**
DeleteGood afternoon all... Slim - The 'war on women', in my opinion, is about limiting a womans right to equality and basically about limiting a womans right to have an abortion. Allowing women on the front lines is the exact opposite of the supposed 'war on women' as it provides a level of equality. Assuming they are fit to be on the front lines, I'm all for it... It won't be long until women are spending thousands on engagement rings for men! :)
