- Maryland governor Martin O'Malley is expected to sign gay marriage into law today (ABC News):

- Two Americans were killed in Afghanistan when two Afghan gunman turned their guns and fired indiscriminately at a NATO security force. The gunmen were allegedly upset at the recent Koran burning incident (MSNBC):

- Bank of America is going to pilot a monthly fee for checking accounts. This is after strong customer opposition to its proposed $5 debit card fee (Fox News):
