Team Obama's "My First Time" Ad

Does anyone see a problem with this? Is Obama's campaign seriously comparing voting for Obama to a young woman losing her virginity? Is this how democrats view women? That when they vote, it's like a hook-up? That voting for your unquestioned, unchecked king is something sensual? That they chastise republicans for a "war on women" and wanting to take away women's rights, but "hey, voting for us is like sex! Bring it on!?" Lena Dunham, in the clip, says that voting caused her to go from being a girl to a woman. Come on!

Honestly, in my opinion, this ad lacks class. Mixing sex, especially when sensitivities are high from recent statements about rape and sexuality in general have been made, with voting seems to be going too far. Yes, this is done by Team Obama. It's on their barackobamadotcom YouTube channel.

But maybe I'm way off on this one. I don't have kids, but I'm curious how mothers feel about this. How does the mother of a 16-18 year old feel about the innuendos in this ad. I'm not religious, but how do religious fathers of teenage daughters feel about this ad? I think, personally, that the ad sinks to a new low in campaigning. And, of course, I predict the media won't even make this a story. Can you imagine the media outrage if the GOP dared to put something like this out?

Mitt Romney has a Women Problem? What About Obama's Men Problem?

We've heard it over and over and over again: "Women voters favor Barack Obama." Or "Mitt Romney has a problem with women voters." Or the big one: "Gender gap!"

A "problem?" A "gap?" Nice word choices. Of course, this is heavily broadcast in the liberal media. Any time they can put out a headline that lines up "problem" and "Romney," they will happily jump on the chance. This headingling of a gender gap is the "effect" of the media-induced "war on women". Yes, the fake war on women is the "cause," so to speak.

So why does the title of this post say "Friday Lie-Day?" Well, surprisingly, Anderson Cooper is at it again... he is calling out DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz for her blatantly dishonest claim about Mitt Romney's stance on abortion and her intentional misquoting of the LA Times. I'm not big on "gotcha" politics, and I prefer deep economic analysis, but hey, it's Friday, viewership is typically lower, and sometimes we can have a little fun. I mean, heck... when the media, late night talk show hosts, and those of the like continually ridicule the GOP (sometimes legitimately, mostly not, and mostly creating fake "gaffes" and twists), I think we on the right can play by the same rules. Anderson Cooper Takes on The Democrats' "War on Women" Claim Against GOP

First off, a HUGE bravo to Anderson Cooper for standing up for truth. Partisan politics aside, the position of this blog from the beginning has been to stand up for truth and fact above all things. Cooper's recent reports highlighting the democrats' often false and over-exaggerated claims about the GOP waging a war on women is precisely the kind of journalism we stand for. We often rail on the mainstream media for the spinning and misrepresentation of facts, but Anderson Cooper's stance on this specific issue is a breath of fresh air.
